Known as the New Caledonian Giant Gecko, she is the largest gecko species globally, reaching lengths of 14–17 inches (35–45 cm) and weighing between 250–500 grams. With a potential lifespan of 15–20 years, she makes a long-term, captivating companion.

Leachie Geckos are nocturnal and arboreal, preferring to stay hidden during the day and becoming active at night. They are known for their vocalizations, including growls and chirps, and can be territorial. While they can be handled, it's best to do so gently and infrequently to minimize stress.
